Syngenta is unique in having the ability to provide from within its own product portfolio both chemical and beneficial insect products to create specifically designed Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs for major flower crops such as roses and chrysanthemums. Syngenta BIOLINE, a recognized producer of beneficial insects, is a fully owned subsidiary of Syngenta and this enables in-house development of commercially viable chemical and biological pest control for cut flower growers.

Vegetation Management

The control of weeds in lakes and waterways, along oil or gas pipelines and around power facilities is essential for safety, visibility and accessibility. It can be achieved by environmentally friendly chemical means, such as used in modern forestry production programs.

The Syngenta vegetation management portfolio delivers high-level performance for railways, highways, utilities, industrial sites, pipelines and general forestry. It has a role to play in habitat management, the control of non-native species, improvement of pasture and ranges and conservation reserve and compliance areas (CRP).

Consumer Lawn and Garden

Products which are purchased by hobby gardeners for the control of pests on indoor, outdoor and balcony plants, and for the lawn and garden to be applied to trees, flowers, fruits, vegetables, paths and hedges.

In Europe our partnership with the leading garden company Compo generated its first product launch: AXORIS® is an innovative combination of a fertilizer with our insecticide thiomethoxam, applied directly into the soil of potted plants via a spike. The launch of this product in Germany was highly successful. Syngenta continues to strengthen its position in Lawn and Garden through further partnerships. In the important UK gardening market, there is collaboration with Westland, starting with RESOLVA 24H® the first new non-selective herbicide in gardening for many years. In Japan, our recently agreed partnership with Fumakilla strengthens our position in another large consumer gardening market.

In Switzerland Syngenta markets its gardening range under the leading brand MAAG products.

Production Partners: Helping growers meet a double challenge

Professional ornamental growers in the USA face two particular challenges: heavy price pressure from retailers and significant plant losses during growing and delivery. Our Production Partners program brings together our Lawn and Garden and Flowers expertise to help growers improve their efficiency and add value through better plant health. Our consultants work closely with growers on every aspect of production, identifying areas for improvement and possible solutions. Our assistance goes well beyond pest control to cover topics such as packaging, marketing and retail relationships.
